ChatGPT and Bing AI to Join Panel at Fintech Conference

Artificial intelligence chatbots will make their debut as panelists at an upcoming conference hosted by the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology. This innovative event will feature a series of workshops over the course of two days, during which each session will be recorded. Transcripts of these discussions will then be analyzed using OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing AI to compile a comprehensive report on the proceedings.

In addition to human experts, both ChatGPT and Bing AI will actively participate in the discussions, addressing audience questions. Despite some criticism regarding their occasional inaccuracies, advancements in these AI models continue to enhance their ability to mirror human reasoning. OpenAI has recently launched ChatGPT-4, which is touted to be more creative, reliable, and less biased than earlier versions.

Professor Ram Gopal, director of the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology, expressed enthusiasm for this groundbreaking initiative: “This experiment seeks to provide our audience with unique research insights from these language models while also presenting novel challenges to our panelists and attendees. It could transform how we approach panel discussions and disseminate research within a live setting.”

The Gillmore Centre, established with a generous £3 million donation from Clive Gillmore, founder and Group CEO of Mondrian Investment Partners, aims to foster collaboration among researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and tech entrepreneurs. Professor Gopal added, “We are establishing a hub where diverse stakeholders can come together to explore new ideas and opportunities. With Silicon Spa nearby in Leamington and over 120 fintech startups in the West Midlands contributing approximately £420 million annually to the regional economy, the potential for innovation is immense.”
