Commonwealth Bank of Australia has introduced an innovative in-app feature aimed at assisting customers in saving money on fuel expenses.
Currently available to 250,000 residents in New South Wales, the Fuel Finder tool analyzes users’ fueling habits to anticipate when they will need to refuel and provides timely reminders about the most affordable options in their vicinity.
Leveraging the bank’s AI-powered Customer Engagement Engine, the feature also offers a fuel price map, allowing users to explore various fuel prices in the surrounding area.
This initiative comes at a time when fuel prices are escalating across Australia. Households with two cars in major Australian cities are now spending approximately $5,115 each year on fuel.
Rochelle Eldridge, General Manager of Shopping at CBA, commented, “As the cost of living continues to rise, many households are seeking strategies to save money. Australians are increasingly using fuel price apps to find the lowest petrol prices, which typically require users to actively search for deals when they need fuel.
“Fuel Finder, however, stands out because it offers a personalized experience, doing the searching for customers. The CommBank app informs them where to find the cheapest fuel in their area just as they are approaching the time for their next fill-up.”
