Capital One has resolved an issue with a third-party vendor that temporarily prevented some customers from accessing their accounts.
Customers began reporting difficulties on Thursday, which affected payment processing and deposits for various consumer, small business, and commercial clients. These issues persisted into Friday, with Capital One attributing the problems to a “technical issue” with a vendor on social media.
According to CNN, the vendor involved is FIS Global, which stated that a power outage caused disruptions to their systems. By Sunday morning, Capital One confirmed that services had been restored and expressed their sincere apologies to customers for the frustrating experience.
This incident followed a challenging week for Capital One, which faced a lawsuit from the CFPB, accusing the institution of misleading millions of consumers and failing to pay more than $2 billion in interest.
