Spain’s CaixaBank has unveiled an ambitious two-year technology strategy, allocating €5 billion to place generative AI at the core of its operations. This initiative, dubbed the ‘Cosmos’ plan, aims to align the bank’s technological advancements with four key goals: enhancing agility and commercial capabilities, introducing innovative services, boosting operational efficiency, and upholding robust security measures.
The integration of artificial intelligence is expected to empower both employees and customers through conversational and operational functionalities, while simultaneously streamlining business processes and transactions.
As part of the Cosmos plan, CaixaBank will launch two specialized programs centered on cloud data technology and the utilization of AI and machine learning. These initiatives are designed to enhance real-time access to information and data analytics.
To reinforce its technological ambitions, CaixaBank plans to expand its workforce by hiring an additional 1,000 IT professionals.
