CaixaBank has established a European research consortium aimed at enhancing cybersecurity through the integration of artificial intelligence and big data.
Collaborating with eleven international entities, the project, named AI4CYBER, is part of the Horizon Europe programme for research and innovation, which is funded by the European Union.
The primary goal of the consortium is to develop new cybersecurity services that will assist in understanding, detecting, and analyzing cyberattacks, while also preparing critical systems to withstand such threats. The outcomes will be directed at helping system developers and operators manage security, resilience, and adaptability in facing adverse situations, and will enable a dynamic response to advanced cyber threats.
Over the course of the three-year project, CaixaBank will serve as a testing ground for new solutions arising from the research and development efforts. The bank expects this approach will allow participants to evaluate improvements in incident response times and enhance models for detecting anomalies in behavioral patterns.
In recent years, CaixaBank has made significant strides to bolster security research and coordination, including the establishment of a specialized group dedicated to addressing IT security incidents and a centralized center responsible for overseeing the overall security of the entire organization.
