Dutch digital bank Bunq is enhancing its commitment to sustainability by celebrating the planting of five million trees across Kenya and Madagascar. This initiative is funded through the bank’s Easy Green account, where Bunq commits to donating a tree to Eden Reforestation Projects for every €100 spent using the card.
Eden Reforestation Projects is a non-profit organization that not only focuses on global forest restoration but also provides fair-wage employment to local villagers, empowering them as agents of change.
Bunq has earned recognition as one of the top three financial institutions in the Netherlands for its environmentally friendly initiatives. The achievement of planting five million trees is equivalent to offsetting over 1.6 million flights between New York and Paris.
Additionally, the Bunq app offers users real-time updates on the number of trees they have contributed to planting, as well as details on their locations.
