Bloomberg Terminals Restored Following Outage

Bloomberg terminals experienced a significant global outage on Wednesday, causing widespread disruption in trading activities across the globe.

These terminals, which come with an annual cost exceeding $25,000 for a single license, are essential tools for investors, providing real-time access to pricing, data, and news updates.

As a result of the outage, the UK Debt Management Office had to extend the bidding process for a bond auction by 90 minutes. Additionally, a debt sale in Portugal was postponed from the morning to the afternoon.

Bloomberg has attributed the problem to an “internal issue,” which was resolved before 1:00 PM BST. A spokesperson stated, “Our systems are returning to normal operations, and Terminal functionality has been fully restored following the earlier service disruption.”
