India’s Axis Bank has partnered with local fintech Fibe to introduce the country’s first numberless credit card. This innovative RuPay-powered card eliminates the traditional printed details such as card number, expiry date, and CVV, enhancing security and privacy for users.
The card is available to Fibe’s two million customers, primarily consisting of young professionals who utilize the fintech’s personal loan services. This contactless card comes with no joining or annual fees and can be linked to India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), allowing it to be used at both offline stores and digital platforms.
Sanjeev Moghe, president and head of cards and payments at Axis Bank, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to work with Fibe on this groundbreaking market innovation, which provides an opportunity to serve a growing customer base. This numberless Axis Bank card will prioritize the security of our customers while delivering a robust financial solution that empowers the ambitious youth of our nation.”
