Atom Bank has inaugurated its new headquarters in Newcastle, signaling a significant commitment to growth with plans to expand its workforce by adding 30 employees to its existing team of 600.
The UK-based challenger bank has transitioned from Durham to this state-of-the-art facility, a multi-million-pound investment designed to enhance its distinctive four-day working week model. Atom is currently seeking candidates for nearly 30 diverse roles, spanning technical positions in engineering and data to customer support.
Situated at the Pattern Shop, a Grade II listed building in Tyneside, the new office occupies a historic structure where Robert Stephenson once manufactured steam locomotives for global distribution in the 1800s.
Mark Mullen, CEO of Atom, remarked, “Our relocation to the Pattern Shop represents more than just a shift in address; it’s a decisive declaration of our future ambitions and our confidence in the North East. We’re creating an environment that honors our region’s industrial heritage while offering a contemporary, adaptable, and inspiring workplace for our team.”
“This new chapter will enable us to attract top talent and continue to challenge conventional norms, demonstrating that a truly innovative and profitable business can flourish right here in the North East.”
