Australian bank ANZ is searching for a new technology leader following the announcement of Gerard Florian’s departure from his role as Group Executive Technology and Group Services.
Florian’s retirement is set for August 4, as he plans to transition into several non-executive positions. He has been with ANZ since 2017, contributing significantly to the bank’s technological direction and strategy.
Before his tenure at ANZ, Florian acted as an advisor to the group board, serving on the International Technology and Digital Business Advisory Panel.
In the interim, Chief Information Officer Michael Bullock will take over Florian’s responsibilities until a permanent successor is found.
ANZ CEO Nuno Matos commented, “Although my time working with Florian has been brief, he has implemented crucial changes within the organization. Our customer and banking experiences have been markedly enhanced thanks to the adoption of cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and comprehensive enterprise platforms that he championed.”
