Australia’s ANZ Bank is undergoing a significant transformation to establish a centralized operations unit and a comprehensive data and analytics function across the organization.
This extensive operational restructuring will be spearheaded by a newly appointed executive team, which will be responsible for managing the bank’s capability center, property, and procurement divisions.
CEO Shayne Elliott emphasized, “While our banking operations are currently performing exceptionally well, enhancing accountability within operations will foster consistency and predictability. Crucially, this approach will enable us to leverage scale across the Group and enhance our responsiveness to customers and key stakeholders."
Elliott elaborated on the bank’s objective to implement a more cohesive framework that facilitates collaboration among various operational sectors.
Additionally, the bank will launch a new group-wide data and analytics division, which will report to Gerard Florian, the bank’s technology leader. This division will be led by a newly appointed chief data and analytics officer, who will oversee the development of the bank’s data strategy and architecture while also steering the integration of artificial intelligence technologies.
