ANZ Eliminates Passwords for Digital Banking Access

ANZ is eliminating password access for its digital banking service, ANZ Plus, and will instead implement two-factor authentication.

Customers will be able to access their ANZ Plus Web Banking through two new methods: using a passkey, such as a fingerprint, facial recognition, or mobile device PIN, or by entering their mobile number and approving a login request sent to their secure ANZ Plus app.

Maile Carnegie, ANZ Group Executive Australia Retail, stated, “The introduction of Password-less Web Banking will transform how customers access their accounts. It will make logging in easier and enhance security, allowing customers to bank with confidence.”

She added, “This change helps protect customer login details from data breaches or phishing attacks, providing an additional layer of security and reducing concerns over banking safety.”
