Payments processor Adyen has appointed Tom Adams, formerly the head of engineering at Cash App, as its new chief technology officer.
Adams takes over from Alexander Matthey, who chose not to seek another term after a decade at the Dutch unicorn. He will join Adyen following nearly seven years at Block’s consumer business, where he played a key role in engineering leadership.
As CTO, Adams will be responsible for the strategic and technological vision of Adyen’s unified platform that integrates payments, data, and financial products.
Pieter van der Does, CEO of Adyen, expressed enthusiasm about Adams’ extensive experience in building a global engineering organization and driving scalable product innovation, anticipating significant contributions to the company’s progress with its single platform.
