Alison Potter Named Chair of FCA and PSR Decision-Making Committees

The FCA and PSR boards have appointed Alison Potter as chair of the FCA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee (RDC) and the PSR’s Enforcement Decisions Committee (EDC). This decision comes as the current chair, Tim Parkes, prepares to step down at the end of the year. Potter will transition into her role at the beginning of November.

Potter previously served as a senior decision maker for the Guernsey Financial Services Commission in 2018 and brings over 30 years of experience as a barrister in commercial law, with a focus on financial services and regulatory law.

Bernadette Conroy, FCA non-executive director and chair of the FCA’s Risk Committee, expressed her enthusiasm for Potter’s appointment: “I am delighted to welcome our new RDC and EDC chair. Alison brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in financial services and decision-making, which will enhance the capability and effectiveness of the RDC and EDC.”

She also acknowledged Tim Parkes for his nearly nine years of exceptional leadership and service as chair, thanking him for his commitment to the vital work of the committees.
