Anthropic Enhances Claude for Financial Services

Anthropic, the AI startup supported by both Amazon and Google, has enhanced its Claude for Financial Services platform by introducing an Excel add-in and integrating additional connectors for real-time market data and portfolio analytics, including offerings from LSEG.

Originally launched this summer, Claude for Financial Services equips analysts with access to the latest Claude 4 models, along with Claude Code and Claude for Enterprise, offering upgraded usage limits and implementation assistance. This innovative technology aims to consolidate users’ financial data—from market feeds to internal information stored in platforms like Databricks and Snowflake—into a single interface, enabling comprehensive analysis.

The recent update expands the availability of live data sources, incorporating Aiera, Chronograph, Moody’s, Egnyte, and MT Newswires. LSEG enhances Claude’s capabilities by providing live market data that includes fixed income pricing, equities, foreign exchange rates, macroeconomic indicators, and key financial metrics from analysts.

Ron Lefferts, co-head of data and analytics at LSEG, stated, “With Claude for Financial Services, our customers can now access LSEG’s unparalleled financial data and insights, enabling the integration of advanced AI directly into their workflows.”

Additionally, the beta version of Claude for Excel has been released as a research preview, allowing users to engage with Claude through a sidebar in Microsoft Excel. This functionality enables the AI to read, analyze, modify, and create new workbooks. Claude can not only interact with existing spreadsheets—preserving their structure and formula dependencies—but also debug and correct cell formulas, populate templates with fresh data, or generate entirely new spreadsheets from scratch, according to Anthropic.

The platform now features advanced agent capabilities, including comparable company analysis, discounted cash flow models, due diligence data packs, company teasers and profiles, earnings analyses, and initiation coverage reports.
