Swiss bank UBS has announced a series of changes to its executive team, including a reshuffle in its operations and technology roles.
Group chief compliance and governance officer Markus Ronner is expected to be nominated as vice chairman at the bank’s next AGM in April 2026. His role will be taken over by Michelle Bereaux, who will become the group head of compliance and operational risk control. Bereaux, currently the group integration officer, has been leading the consolidation of Credit Suisse’s systems following its acquisition by UBS in March 2023, a process projected to be completed by the end of 2026. She will now guide the bank through what is described as a “demanding non-financial risk environment,” especially as the bank anticipates an increase in capital requirements from the Swiss Federal Department of Finance.
Additionally, Beatriz Martin will become the group chief operating officer. Currently, she heads non-core and legacy operations and will continue to manage responsibilities related to sustainability and impact while taking on new duties related to the Credit Suisse integration.
Chief technology officer Mike Dargan will maintain his position, concentrating on enhancing the bank’s technology platforms and exploring investments in AI and digital assets.
