Two prominent Indian banks have announced the appointment of new chief executives.
Kalyan Kumar has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Central Bank of India, taking over from M V Rao, who has retired. Prior to this role, Kumar served as an Executive Director at Punjab National Bank and held the position of Chief General Manager at Union Bank of India. In his new capacity, he will spearhead the bank’s digital transformation initiatives.
In a separate move, Asheesh Pandey has been named the Managing Director and CEO of Union Bank of India. He previously held the position of Executive Director at Bank of Maharashtra, where he played a key role in implementing digital lending platforms, developing internal dashboards, and executing process reengineering projects.
