Revolut has secured a significant multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement with Google Cloud, aiming to accelerate its global expansion.
This collaboration is a crucial component of Revolut’s strategy to exceed 100 million customers worldwide. The fintech company will leverage Google Cloud’s advanced technologies throughout its operations, enhancing both back-end processes and the customer-facing app experience. Additionally, Revolut plans to utilize Google’s AI and machine learning capabilities, including Gemini models, to strengthen fraud detection and deliver more tailored product offerings to its diverse customer base.
David Tirado, Vice President of Global Business and Profitability at Revolut, emphasized the partnership’s potential: “This collaboration will enable us to scale our services rapidly, enhance personalization, and maintain our competitive edge over traditional financial institutions.”
Since its inception in 2015, Revolut has swiftly evolved into a leading fintech player in the UK and Europe, growing from 1.5 million customers in 2018 to over 60 million today. The company has expanded beyond its initial money management app roots, and the alliance with Google will support a variety of new products and features. These include the launch of its own ATMs in Europe, innovative savings and investment solutions, and plans to enter the telecom sector by offering mobile plans in the UK and Germany.
