OpenAI is planning to integrate a payment checkout system into ChatGPT to enhance revenue, as reported by the Financial Times.
The feature is currently being tested with Shopify, allowing OpenAI to take a commission on sales made through the chatbot. OpenAI and Shopify already collaborate to improve product discovery, but ChatGPT currently directs users to external retailers for transactions.
