Accounting, admin, and banking software platform Ageras has made its eighth acquisition by purchasing the Dutch payroll company Employes. This marks Ageras’s most significant move since acquiring Shine from Societe Generale in 2024 and is their second acquisition this year, following the purchase of payment reconciliation software Storebuddy in February.
Rico Andersen, CEO and co-founder of Ageras, remarked, “Employes is a perfect match for Ageras as they also prioritize business owners and are dedicated to simplifying administration. This acquisition strengthens our Dutch offerings and provides us with a scalable platform that revolutionizes how small businesses manage payroll, alleviating the typical challenges associated with it. This is undoubtedly our most important acquisition since Shine joined us last year.”
Founded in 2018, Employes specializes in do-it-yourself payroll solutions designed for the Dutch regulatory environment and currently serves over 6,000 companies, along with more than 300 bookkeeping firms using its services to manage payroll for small businesses.
Rob Kroezen, co-founder of Employes, expressed, “We started Employes out of frustration with the complexity of payroll management for small business owners. Joining Ageras provides us with the scale, reach, and resources necessary to enhance our product for more entrepreneurs, and we are thrilled about what lies ahead.”
