Ethical investment platform Clim8 has successfully exceeded its latest crowdfunding goal by raising £2.35 million from a diverse group of investment funds and nearly 1,900 retail investors.
This impressive achievement surpasses the initial target by 600%, reflecting a growing investor interest in sustainable ventures, especially as society becomes increasingly aware of climate change issues. Notable participants in this funding round include 7percent Ventures, Basil Capital, Evergreen Fund, EcoSummit Ventures, and several former partners of McKinsey.
With this recent funding, Clim8 has successfully raised a total of £4.4 million, following a previous round that generated £2 million, and it boasts over 10,000 individuals on its waitlist ahead of its upcoming public launch.
CEO Duncan Grierson commented on the current trend: “We are witnessing a significant shift towards sustainable assets. Companies that offer environmentally-friendly products and maintain strong governance are positioning themselves favorably in this evolving market. The recognition of climate change as a pressing issue is driving an alignment in investment strategies towards sustainability, and we are proud to contribute to this important movement.”
