NatWest is partnering with Spotify to launch an innovative, carbon-neutral podcast series that highlights climate champions within the UK’s business landscape.
Titled “Green Business Builders,” the series will be hosted by Paralympian and broadcaster Ade Adepitan, showcasing the environmental initiatives of both large and small enterprises. In a collaborative effort, NatWest and Spotify are offsetting the carbon emissions generated during the production and streaming of the podcast, which amounts to 480 tonnes of CO2. They will collaborate with Forest Carbon to support essential reforestation projects throughout the UK.
Solange Chamberlain, COO of Commercial Banking at NatWest, emphasizes the bank’s commitment to addressing climate change: “As a leading financial institution in the UK, it’s essential that businesses have access to the information necessary for making decisions beneficial to both their operations and the environment. We aim to empower them to take meaningful action.”
In addition to this initiative, NatWest has recently introduced various eco-friendly measures, such as offering preferential interest rates for customers re-mortgaging energy-efficient properties and incorporating a free carbon footprint tracker within its banking app. The bank looks forward to seeing how the businesses featured in this series inspire others to adopt greener practices.
