Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) is partnering with Fujitsu to develop a data analytics business aimed at enhancing customer decision-making and operational efficiency.
This collaboration follows the formation of a joint project team in 2024 that conducted a survey revealing that various sectors, including manufacturing, wholesale, and retail, are seeking to transition from experience-based decision-making to data-driven operations. This shift aims to improve efficiency and bolster management decisions.
To address these needs, SMBC will leverage its industry expertise alongside Fujitsu’s advanced AI-powered demand forecasting. Together, they aim to enhance management decision-making processes and optimize customers’ product ordering volumes, personnel allocation, and logistics planning.
