N26 Partners with Revolut to Transform the Telecommunications Industry

German neobank N26 is venturing into the telecommunications sector, inspired by the model established by Revolut, by launching a digital mobile plan.

Utilizing Vodafone’s 5G network, N26’s mobile offering includes an eSIM that can be effortlessly activated through their app. The plans feature unlimited national calls and text messages, along with complimentary roaming in the EU and EEA. Data packages range from €13.99 per month for 10 gigabytes to €34.99 for 100 gigabytes.

Customers opting for the N26 SIM can either port their existing phone number or receive a new number from N26. Additionally, users have the flexibility to cancel their plans with just a month’s notice, eliminating the need for long-term contracts and commitments.

Valentin Stalf, the founder and CEO of N26, stated, “With N26 SIM, we’ll provide flexible and affordable mobile plans that can be activated directly in our app with just a few taps. Working alongside Vodafone, we’re ensuring that our customers are connected via one of the premier mobile networks in Germany, setting new benchmarks in the telecom industry.”

This move into telecommunications aligns with the recent launch of a mobile plan by Revolut, which diversifies its revenue streams beyond traditional banking. Revolut’s offerings include unlimited texts, calls, and domestic data, featuring 20GB of EU and US data roaming, all without the burden of a fixed contract.

Revolut’s mobile plans are set to debut in the UK and Germany, with additional markets anticipated to follow. Users are encouraged to join a waitlist to be among the first to access services, benefiting from an introductory rate of £12.50 per month.
