Lloyds Banking Group is seeking its inaugural group head of data ethics to effectively address the complexities associated with the increasing use of data and artificial intelligence.
The financial services industry is currently confronting a range of ethical challenges as big data and machine learning become integral to their operations. With a strategic investment of £3 billion in its digitization initiatives, Lloyds has positioned its chief data and analytics office at the forefront of this transformation and is now looking for a senior leader focused on ethics.
According to the job posting, the successful candidate will be tasked with developing and aligning the bank’s Data Ethics strategy, ensuring that principles of “ethics by design” and the concept of “data used for good” are thoroughly integrated across the organization. Additionally, the role will involve promoting the adoption of best practices and tools related to data ethics, alongside implementing appropriate checks and monitoring systems within business and platform teams.
