Following its successful implementation in the Netherlands, ING is introducing the ‘check the call’ fraud feature to its customers in Belgium.
‘Check the call’ enables customers to quickly verify the legitimacy of individuals claiming to be ING employees. This tool is specifically designed to combat the escalating threat of bank helpdesk fraud, where scammers impersonate bank representatives over the phone.
Originally launched in the Netherlands last year, the feature is currently used by over 10,000 customers each month, contributing to a 43% reduction in helpdesk fraud in 2024.
