Revolut is expanding its influence beyond banking by introducing Mobile Plans, challenging conventional telecom operators directly.
These new Mobile Plans will provide users with unlimited texts, calls, and domestic data, along with a generous 20GB for EU and US data roaming—all without the constraints of a fixed contract. Initially available in the UK and Germany, Revolut customers can join a waitlist for early access, taking advantage of an introductory monthly rate of £12.50.
Users have the flexibility to either obtain a mobile number through Revolut or port their existing number. Additionally, payment for the plans can be made using RevPoints, the company’s loyalty program that rewards customers for their purchases.
In 2024, Revolut became a trailblazer in the UK financial sector by offering global eSIMs, enabling customers to stay connected while traveling abroad. This service has gained immense popularity, with users creating millions of data plans across more than 100 locations worldwide, making eSIM Revolut’s top non-banking product by usage.
Hadi Nasrallah, General Manager for Telecom and Retail at Revolut, remarked on the success of the eSIM initiative, stating that the mobile sector is due for disruption. He noted that many consumers face challenges with traditional networks, including hidden fees, poor customer service, and outdated user experiences. Revolut aims to address these issues by providing a technology-driven solution that emphasizes value and flexibility with no long-term commitments. This marks another significant advancement for Revolut in the telecommunications sector, where innovation is long overdue, and the company looks forward to rolling out its services to even more markets soon.
