Nasdaq and AWS have teamed up to deliver cloud advantages to market operators globally. This collaboration aims to empower these operators to enhance liquidity, facilitate capital flows, and drive growth, all while maintaining robust performance, security, and resilience.
The proposed framework integrates AWS with the infrastructure of exchanges and trading participants at a centralized location, effectively addressing the demands for resilience, security, proximity, and low latency. Nasdaq is introducing its cutting-edge marketplace technology platform, Eclipse, which features cloud-ready applications and standardized APIs that ensure interoperability throughout the entire trade lifecycle.
Moreover, a new service deployment model provides market operators with access to the deep expertise of both firms in capital markets, helping to alleviate operational burdens.
Nasdaq’s Nordic markets are the first to implement this innovative blueprint, alongside expanded modernization initiatives with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and Mexico’s Grupo BMV.
Adena Friedman, CEO of Nasdaq, remarked, “The synergy of Nasdaq’s technological expertise with AWS’s advanced infrastructure empowers us to address the industry’s most challenging issues that have hindered market growth and scalability worldwide. By simplifying complexities and reducing friction and fragmentation, we are strengthening the financial ecosystem, enhancing connectivity and resilience, and ushering in a new era of economic growth and prosperity.”
