NatWest Launches Carbon Planner Tool to Assist Businesses in Lowering Energy Expenses

NatWest has introduced a free digital tool called the Carbon Planner, aimed at assisting UK businesses in reducing their energy expenses while minimizing their carbon emissions.

The Carbon Planner offers tailored recommendations based on individual user data, empowering companies to make informed choices about their sustainability efforts. Developed in collaboration with the environmental management consultancy Green Element and tested with 2,000 businesses, this tool helps users identify their primary sources of emissions and suggests viable alternatives. It also presents an analysis of potential savings from adopting sustainable practices, along with an estimate of the time required to achieve a return on investment.

This innovative resource is available to both existing and prospective NatWest customers.

Solange Chamberlain, Chief Operating Officer for Commercial & Institutional at NatWest Group, stated, “Businesses of varied sizes are experiencing mounting pressures from escalating energy costs. Our Carbon Planner tool is designed to help them navigate these challenges by providing clear insights into investment opportunities in sustainability, highlighting areas of high energy and carbon use.”

The launch of the Carbon Planner is part of NatWest’s larger commitment to provide £100 billion in Climate and Sustainable Funding and Financing by 2025. Recent financial reports from the bank indicate that their cumulative contribution has reached £26.2 billion so far.
