Bunq Introduces GenAI Chatbot

Bunq has introduced an innovative generative AI platform, designed to impress customers with its capabilities in addressing various financial inquiries.

The new chatbot, named Finn, utilizes advanced large language models from leading tech companies such as OpenAI, Meta, and Google. This integration replaces the traditional search function within the Bunq app, enhancing user accessibility.

Finn features an interactive chat interface that allows users to pose questions or seek guidance related to their banking activities, spending patterns, saving strategies, and more. It can handle sophisticated queries, such as “What is my average monthly expenditure on groceries?” and “What have I spent on Amazon this year?” Furthermore, Finn provides insights that extend beyond simple transactions, allowing users to inquire about past visits, like “What was the name of that Indian restaurant I visited in London with a friend?” or “How much did I spend at the café near Central Park last Saturday?”

Bunq has placed a significant emphasis on AI in its growth strategy, positioning itself as the second-largest neobank in Europe, currently serving 11 million customers and managing deposits totaling €7 billion—a remarkable increase of 55% since July 2023.
