Temenos Banks Can Now Roll Out Digital Asset Services in Just Days After Integrating with Taurus

Taurus, a digital asset infrastructure firm, has announced a complete integration with Temenos, a Swiss software vendor. This collaboration will empower banks to develop and oversee crypto wallets and facilitate the transfer of various digital assets directly through their existing core banking software.

Established in 2018, Taurus specializes in providing enterprise-grade infrastructure for digital assets, allowing for the issuance, custody, and trading of cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, NFTs, and digital currencies. The firm has already garnered the support of several prominent financial institutions, including Deutsche Bank, Caceis, Credit Suisse, Pictet, State Street, and Arab Bank Switzerland.

The partnership with Temenos significantly broadens the accessibility of this technology for numerous financial institutions. It enables banks to initiate comprehensive digital asset services with a markedly expedited timeline—potentially within just days or weeks—at a substantially reduced cost compared to traditional methods.

Alexandre Duret, Senior Product Director at Temenos, remarked, “This extensive integration with Taurus equips banks with the necessary infrastructure to swiftly and effectively launch digital asset services. By offering a fully integrated system, we empower our clients to present digital assets alongside their traditional offerings, thus minimizing complexity and lowering entry barriers.”

Temenos clients will have the capability to conduct custody operations directly through their core systems, covering a wide array of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies and tokenized entities on both public and private distributed ledger technologies (DLTs). All core custody, transfer, and booking interfaces have been seamlessly integrated.

The system further enhances functionality by enabling one-click wallet and address creation, as well as automating deposit, transfer, and withdrawal processes. Transactions involving digital assets are recorded directly in the Temenos core banking system, which guarantees real-time booking and reconciliation with traditional asset transactions.

Jürgen Hofbauer, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at Taurus, noted, “This level of integration represents a significant advancement for financial institutions. It enables banks to handle digital assets in the same manner as any other asset, simplifying operations while unlocking new growth opportunities. We eagerly anticipate the launch of additional features for our mutual clients in collaboration with Temenos.”
