Former Finastra CEO Simon Paris Joins Unit4

Former Finastra CEO Simon Paris has recently taken the helm as the chief executive officer of Unit4, a notable enterprise resource planning (ERP) firm. His departure from Finastra, where he served for a decade, came at the beginning of the year, and he left a significant mark on the global financial technology landscape.

During his leadership at Finastra, Paris successfully expanded the company’s reach to over 8,000 clients across 130 countries, attracting 45 of the world’s top 50 banks. This growth was particularly notable following the merger of Misys and D+H in 2017, which resulted in the formation of Finastra.

As Paris transitions to Unit4, he succeeds Mike Etting, who has announced his retirement. Reflecting on Paris’s appointment, Etting expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to build upon the company’s recent successes. “Over the past few years, we have transformed the company from good to great, establishing it as a global leader in SaaS ERP for service industries. Simon has all the qualities needed to build on this foundation and lead us toward our ambitious goal of €1 billion in revenue,” he stated.

Unit4 currently serves over 5,100 clients worldwide in various sectors, including professional services, nonprofit organizations, and the public sector. Among its clientele are notable names such as Southampton City Council, Metro Vancouver, Buro Happold, Devoteam, Save the Children International, Global Green Growth Institute, and Oxfam America.
