Halifax Bank is launching an innovative trial scheme that offers comprehensive solar panel sourcing, installation, and ongoing support.
In collaboration with Effective Home, a recognized leader in solar panel installation, Halifax aims to simplify the process of finding reliable suppliers for solar solutions. Through the Halifax Green Living Hub, customers can take advantage of Effective Home’s virtual consultation service, which allows for a remote assessment of their home’s suitability for solar panel installation, eliminating the need for an on-site visit. Following the consultation, a customized solar plan will be provided, detailing estimated installation costs and potential savings on energy bills. For those who decide to move forward, an in-person technical survey will be scheduled.
Effective Home will handle the installation process and assist customers in registering their solar panels under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, ensuring a complimentary insurance-backed guarantee.
The starting price for solar packages is approximately £5,650, which includes a 25-year warranty. The total cost will vary based on the size of the system required and whether an additional battery installation is included. Furthermore, eligible Halifax mortgage customers can benefit from a £500 cashback offer through the bank’s Green Living Reward initiative.
As an added incentive, anyone who installs solar panels through the Halifax and Effective Home partnership will receive a complimentary Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessment for their property.
Andrew Asaam, Homes Director at Halifax, states: “Solar panels are becoming increasingly prevalent on rooftops across the UK, and for good reason. They tap into renewable energy, help reduce energy expenses, and lower carbon emissions, making them an excellent choice for those seeking an energy-efficient home. Our collaboration with Effective Home streamlines the solar panel installation process, enabling more individuals to enjoy the advantages of a greener home and reduced utility bills.”
