Dutch neobank bunq has enhanced its GenAI assistant, Finn, to offer a fully conversational experience and has introduced a new travel insurance product.
Originally launched last year, Finn replaces the conventional search function within the bunq app, allowing users to pose questions and seek guidance related to their bank accounts, spending behaviors, saving strategies, and various other financial topics. The assistant has proven effective, having answered over 100,000 inquiries and independently resolving up to 40% of user support issues, while assisting with 75% of total queries.
The latest upgrade enables Finn to handle consecutive inquiries and deliver deeper insights into users’ financial situations at twice the previous speed, ensuring personalized and context-rich responses. Finn not only addresses questions about bank accounts and expenditures but also recommends popular local spots such as cafes, restaurants, and bars in different cities, based on user reviews.
In another development, bunq has partnered with embedded insurance provider Qover to enhance its product offerings for digital nomads. This collaboration aims to simplify the insurance process for travelers who often need to re-purchase coverage for each trip. With the new feature, customers on the Easy Bank Pro XL plan can enjoy automatic worldwide coverage for all future trips by activating the option just once. Users can conveniently file insurance claims through the app via a link to Qover.
