BBVA Mexico is revamping its credit and debit cards by incorporating biometrics, eliminating printed data, and utilizing recycled plastic.
The new Aqua cards will not feature card numbers or expiration dates, instead relying on dynamic CVVs for security. Additionally, these cards will include fingerprint readers, enabling users to make contactless payments of any amount at the point of sale without the need to enter a PIN. Furthermore, the cards are crafted from up to 86% recycled materials, aligning with the Spanish lender’s goal of making all its cards environmentally friendly by 2023.
