Upvest Secures €30 Million Funding and Partnership with BlackRock

Upvest, a startup based in Berlin, has raised €30 million and established a partnership with BlackRock to enhance investment accessibility for millions across Europe. The company provides a straightforward plug-and-play API designed for fintechs entering the investment space, allowing easy integration into existing systems. Upvest’s technology supports the development of a wide array of investment products, including crypto trading and fractional investing, while ensuring compliance with European regulations.

The company holds BaFin licenses for securities, crypto brokerage, and custody, and has forged partnerships with BNP Securities for custodial services and ABN Amro for payment solutions. The collaboration with BlackRock will enable Upvest to leverage BlackRock’s extensive investment expertise as it expands its services to larger financial institutions.

Martin Kassing, co-founder and CEO of Upvest, stated, “With only a fraction of the European population investing in stocks and ETFs, we feel the urge to provide a better investment infrastructure to companies facilitating easy and affordable investment experiences. Together with BlackRock’s investment expertise, we can now serve any financial institution to upgrade their investment offering.”

Through this partnership, BlackRock also participated in Upvest’s recent €30 million funding round, joining existing investors such as Bessemer Venture Partners, HV Capital, Earlybird, Notion Capital, ABN Amro Ventures, and 10x Capital.
