Fiserv Appoints Michael Lyons as New CEO, Succeeding Bisignano

Fiserv has announced the appointment of Michael Lyons, the former president of PNC Financial Services Group, as president and CEO-elect. He will succeed Frank Bisignano, who has been selected to lead the Social Security Administration under the Trump administration.

Lyons will officially join Fiserv on January 27 and will report to Bisignano, who will remain at the helm of the company until June 30, or until his confirmation by the US Senate for his new government position.

With three decades of experience in the industry, Lyons most recently held the role of president at PNC. He is also the chair of Early Warning Services, the organization behind the P2P payments platform Zelle.

Lyons expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “I have known the company for a long time as an investor, banker, and technology service provider, and I look forward to advancing Fiserv’s 40-year track record of success with this remarkable set of assets developed by Frank and the Fiserv management team. Together, we will continue delivering exceptional products and services to financial institutions, businesses, and communities of all sizes, along with sustainable growth and value for our shareholders.”
