During the past two days, 16 early-stage and early-growth fintech startups from Europe and beyond showcased their proof of concepts or working products at EBAday 2023 in Madrid, Spain.
iPiD has been announced as the 2023 Fintech Zone winner, receiving their award from Mark Wilson, the sales and marketing director of Otoma, who was the 2022 winner. The judges were particularly impressed by iPiD’s solution, which validates payee accounts and manages data to identify and mitigate fraud and failed payments. Their goal is to make cross-border payments secure and seamless, and they have developed a viable solution to achieve this.
Founded in late 2021 and based in the Netherlands, iPiD’s recognition marks the sixth year that Finextra has organized the Fintech Zone, promoting innovative solutions from early-stage fintechs. This year, over 70 applications were received from 17 countries, which were narrowed down to 16 finalists representing 11 countries.
All finalists participated in EBAday, where they had the opportunity to network and presented their pitches to judges and an audience. The judges selected the fintech firm with the most innovative offering.
