Emirates NBD is aiming to nurture the next generation of fintech talent in the UAE with the launch of its ‘National Digital Talent Incubator’ programme, developed in partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
The incubator will leverage DIFC’s venture building platform, Launchpad, and is backed by a consortium of technology partners, including Visa, Microsoft, and Dell Technologies. The programme will host two cohorts each year, each comprising three to six fintech startups led by UAE national founders and team members.
Over an eight-week period, participants will benefit from insights provided by venture building and innovation experts from DIFC Launchpad, along with mentorship and personalized coaching sessions with founders of successful fintech scaleups in the UAE. Additionally, they will gain access to key stakeholders, including corporations, government entities, and capital resources in the region.
Miguel Rio Tinto, group chief digital and information officer at Emirates NBD, emphasized the unique focus of this incubator, stating: “Most incubator programmes worldwide concentrate solely on product innovation. Emirates NBD’s National Digital Talent Incubator programme distinguishes itself by equipping participants to expand their skillsets, networks, and influence. It aims to enhance their understanding of crucial economic trends and empower them to build businesses that could have a substantial impact on both the local and global economy. We are offering participants a toolkit to turn their ideas into meaningful innovations, along with the support needed to scale them effectively.”
