Paymentsense Secures E-Money License in Ireland

UK-based PaymentSense is launching its services in the Irish market under the trading name Dojo, following the acquisition of an e-money licence from the country’s central bank.

Dojo, which offers merchants card terminals for contactless payments, already has a presence in Ireland. The new licence enables the company to broaden its service offerings to include e-money services, positioning itself alongside competitors like Stripe, Square, and SumUp.

Currently serving over 150,000 businesses in the UK, Dojo reported revenues of €278 million for the fiscal year ending 31 March. With Ireland as its European headquarters, the company aims to expand further into the EU market.

John Irwin, CEO of Paymentsense Ireland, stated: “Our success in the UK, built on customer obsession and innovative technology, will now extend to Ireland and other EU countries in the future.”
