Danske Bank Partners with AWS for Cloud Agreement

Denmark’s Danske Bank has entered into a multiyear agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance its investment in cloud technology. This partnership involves the migration of over 16,600 virtual and physical servers and more than 1,000 applications from Danske’s private cloud to AWS.

This initiative is part of Danske’s five-year plan, Forward ’28, aimed at delivering more digital products and self-service options for clients, while also improving internal efficiencies. As part of this transition, Danske will implement a training program for over 1,500 employees to facilitate the adoption of AWS’s cloud technology.

“Our customers are increasingly digital, and we are focused on meeting their expectations for online services while striving to be a simple, efficient, and secure bank as outlined in our Forward ’28 strategy,” said Frans Woelders, COO of Danske Bank.

He further explained, “We will utilize AWS’s comprehensive range of cloud technologies, including AI, machine learning, and Generative AI services, to enhance internal developer productivity, enable conversational interfaces, deliver personalized recommendations, and gain insights from customer interactions, ultimately improving the digital banking experience for our customers.”

Danske joins several other banks, including NAB, NatWest, and BBVA, that have recently signed agreements with AWS.
