Wells Fargo Launches Paze Online Checkout Feature for Customers

Wells Fargo is the latest lender to introduce Early Warning Service’s Paze online checkout option for its debit and credit card customers.

Wells Fargo customers can activate the Paze digital wallet through the bank’s app or during checkout on participating online merchants’ websites. Paze consolidates all eligible credit and debit cards into a single wallet, streamlining the checkout process by removing the need for manual entry. Additionally, it enhances security by tokenizing card numbers.

Paze is developed by Early Warning Services, which is also behind the widely used Zelle P2P payments service. Wells Fargo is not the only financial institution adopting this technology; Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, PNC Bank, Truist, and U.S. Bank are also offering similar features, collectively making the wallet accessible for over 125 million credit and debit cards.

Abeer Bhatia, head of enterprise payments and personal lending at Wells Fargo, stated, “We are proud to provide our customers with an online checkout experience that is easy and secure, as their actual card number is not shared with the merchant when using Paze. As more people make purchases from their phones and laptops, it’s essential to ensure that online checkout is as convenient and safe as possible for our customers.”
