Morgan Stanley has introduced an AI-powered assistant, AskResearchGPT, designed to help staff extract and summarize insights from its vast research library. This tool provides access to over 70,000 proprietary reports published each year, enabling investment banking sales and trading teams to seamlessly access the assistant within their daily workflows. With a simple click, users can transfer their query results into an email draft, complete with links to relevant research citations for deeper exploration.
“AskResearchGPT gives our client-facing teams a competitive edge, allowing them to engage more deeply with clients while enhancing the quality of service,” stated Eden Kidner, head of technology strategy for Morgan Stanley Research. He emphasized the importance of this tool in creating a comprehensive research platform that integrates with various tools and will expand its capabilities across different information sources, skills, and languages. Morgan Stanley continues to explore the latest advancements in generative AI to improve employee and client interactions.
The firm has been a pioneer in applying generative AI on Wall Street, having partnered with OpenAI in spring 2023. AskResearchGPT marks the first instance of generative AI in the institutional securities sector, complementing other tools like the AI @ Morgan Stanley Assistant and AI @ Morgan Stanley Debrief, which were introduced to wealth management advisors over the past year.
